Change to calendar

March 4, 2011

There’s been a slight adjustment to the Disabled Sailing Association of BC 2011 calendar of events.
The close of the the season has been brought forward a few days – it’s now Friday, Aug. 26. That is your last chance for program sailing this year.
(There will be sailing the following day, in the Integration Regatta, for [...]

2011 calendar of events

February 8, 2011

The Disabled Sailing Association of BC has just published the 2011 calendar of adaptive sailing activities in Vancouver, BC.
Things get moving with a series of pre-season get-togethers, which are running until the beginning of the season in May. These will put the emphasis on socializing. You don’t have to have sailed to take part, [...]

Sailing for People With Disabilities – video

November 23, 2010

I just added this footage to YouTube. While it’s redundant to write a great deal about the video footage – especially as you just have to click on it to watch the whole item – I’ve got to say that it contains some of the best on-the-water footage of adaptive sailing that I’ve ever seen.

Well, I’m taking my first steps to get to an international sailing reputation.
It all began when I got the chance to try sailing a 2.4mR, which was displayed at Mobility Cup 2010. I loved it! It is tougher to sail than a Martin 16, but it’s more like a real sailboat. We were taught [...]

Mobility Cup 2010 report

September 28, 2010

By Jenny Davey
Just got back from the 2010 Mobility Cup, hosted by the Disabled Sailing Association of BC and held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. I was holding sort of a dual role at this event: I was called in at the last minute to help Association québécoise de voile adaptée (AQVA) with their large [...]

These pictures [...]

I’ve been threatening you all with these for a while now – shots from the Mobility Cup 2010 Celebration Dinner. Yes, here opens the case for the prosecution. . .
It was held on Thursday, Sept. 16 at Royal Vancouver Yacht Club to celebrate the (ongoing) achievements of all Mobility Cup participants.
Broadcast journalist Linda Aylesworth [...]
