The Disabled Sailing Association of BC has just published the 2011 calendar of adaptive sailing activities in Vancouver, BC.
Things get moving with a series of pre-season get-togethers, which are running until the beginning of the season in May. These will put the emphasis on socializing. You don’t have to have sailed to take part, as these are an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in adaptive sailing to find out more about the sport.
These will be held 6:30 – 8 pm at GF Strong Rehab Centre on the third Thursday of the month.
The season opens Wednesday, May 25 (you can book a sail from Thursday, May 19). DSA-BC will be sailing Wednesday through Sunday, from 11am to 5pm (with 5pm being the time of the last launch.)
Race Club is held every Sunday through the season, except on days when there’s a regatta going on.
This year’s Mobility Cup is held at Hamilton, Ontario – on Lake Ontario – from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2.
